Papiers blancs et papiers journaux déchirés recollés sur toile. Papiers froissés en relief pour la confection des pierres et papiers journaux déchirés & collés pour le cimenter le mur… Toutes les ombres du tableau sont faites de mots manuscrits écrits à outrance sur ce patchwork de matières : tabous, on-dits, non-dits, peur des mots, mot de trop, trop de maux, plus de mots… jetés ça et là, épars ou collés, juxtaposés, à l’endroit, à l’envers, superposés jusqu’à l’excès, les mots sculptent le tableau… les reliefs se forment, ombres & lumières apparaissent, le tableau prend corps. « Comm’ »… trop de communication tue la communication… arrive-t-on encore à parler, à communiquer avec des mots ? Regard issu d’une photo travaillée en amont via support numérique, puis imprimée, déchirée et reconstituée sur la toile. Viennent ensuite les mots manuscrits écrits en surimpression pour les ombres.

Always blank papers or newspapers torn-patched up on canvas. I've creased typewritten paper (worked on digital media) to put into relief the stones and I've used newspaper (in fact... words) in order to cement the stone wall. All the shadows of the paintings are made of handwritten words... Those words, in French in the painting (such as taboos, the not-said, hearsay, family secrets, a word too many, no more words…) are thrown on this patchwork of material, handwritten again and again until saturation, scattered, pasted here and there according to the drawing, wrong side up, ride side up, superimposed with abandon, or isolated… lost… legible… building up relief, shadow and light appear naturally. "comm’"... nickname for communication! Too much communication kills communication… Are we walled by too many words (unspoken words as well as all day life's words, read, heard or listened ones)? Or can the power of the look, our ultimate way of expression, shatter the wall of incomprehension? You can interpret this painting as you want it. I worked the look with digital media to insert typed words, the stones are painted in acrylic, and then the handwritten words for shadows are in black ink.
